Synopsis
Did
you know that a UFO sighting occurs somewhere on the planet every
three minutes? Hundreds of thousands of unexplained sightings have
been reported all around the world, many of which were documented
or photographed. A Roper poll in 1991 said that 4 million Americans
believe they have been abducted. A Gallop poll in 1996 said that
71% of Americans believe the government knows more than it is telling
us about UFOs. Millions of people have seen UFOs, from biblical
prophets to astronauts to housewives to astronomers.
SIX DAYS IN ROSWELL is a docu-comedy about the fanatic-like following
that has sprung up around the many UFO sightings and the reported
extra-terrestrial encounters. But specifically, the film is the
story of one man's search for answers.
Richard Kronfeld lives in Minnesota and has dreamed for years of
traveling to Roswell, New Mexico to research alien abductions, and
maybe even contact an alien intelligence himself. All his friends
have moved on and accomplished things in their lives, and Kronfeld
sees this trip as a way for him to take action for once in his life.
The cameras follow Kronfeld as he makes his pilgrimage to the shrine
called Roswell.
Kronfeld and the film crew arrive in Roswell early the morning of
July 1, 1997. Kronfeld's adventure begins with the simple task of
finding a room. Unfortunately every hotel within a 50 mile radius
is booked. Eventually Kronfeld locates a Roswell resident, Norm
Matheson, who agrees to rent out his motor home.
With lodging finally secured, Kronfeld sets out to find some answers.
Kronfeld asks people about their alien beliefs, their UFO sightings,
their unexplained abductions, and how these things affect their
lives. Kronfeld and the filmmakers speak with hundreds of people,
including the famous and infamous figures in the UFO world.
They interview Whitley Strieber, who's book Communion, about his
own alien abduction, has sold millions of copies world wide; Stanton
T. Friedman, a nuclear physicist who was the first civilian to investigate
the Roswell cover-up; Robert O. Dean, the retired Army Command Sergeant
Major who has studied the government's evidence; Don Schmitt, UFO
researcher and author of the book The Truth About The Roswell Crash;
Budd Hopkins, the most influential abduction researcher in the world
today; Peter Gersten, founder of Citizens Against UFO Secrecy, who
is suing the U. S. Government for release of all documents relating
to UFOs; Dennis Balthaser, UFO investigator for Roswell's International
UFO Museum and Research Center; Daryl Fritch, investigator for MUFON
(Mutual UFO Network) who claims the US Government has had gravity-drive
craft for over 50 years; Vonnie Goss, director of "Roswell, The
Musical," the musical production which reenacts the events of the
1947 crash; Doug Roysden, the rock musician who wrote and performs
a song about the event; Kevin Randle and Karl Pflock, noted UFO
researchers who debate these unknowable issues; Thomas Jennings,
the mayor of Roswell; John Gibson, the MSNBC anchorman who was sent
to cover the event; Yovan Smith, an hypnotherapist who's 'reason
for being' is to help alien abductees cope with their traumatic
experiences; Chuck Missler, the religious leader who preaches that
aliens are more likely demonic; and many many more....
